COLLEEN MARKEY OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior midfielder/forward from Raleigh, N.C., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week beginning October 2nd.
Markey led the 12th-ranked Trinity women's soccer team to a pair of SCAC wins last week, defeating Schreiner and Dallas.
Markey tallied two goals and two assist over the two Tiger victories last week, as the team remained unscathed in conference play.
She netted a pair of goals and an assist in Wednesday's home win over Schreiner, then scored an assist in the Friday afternoon game against Dallas. Markey's first goal of the week proved to be the game-winner.
For the season, Markey has scored six goals to go with 10 assist, and now leads all Trinity players with three game-winning scores.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore forward Katie Morton of Texas Lutheran University sunk the game-winning goal against Centenary, her second score of the match, to lead the Bulldogs to a 3-1 victory Friday.
