ERICA COKER OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a junior goalkeeper from Frisco, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for matches played Monday, October 19th through Sunday, October 25th.
Coker recorded her first shutout of the season to help put the Ladies right into the thick of the race for a berth in the SCAC Tournament. She grabbed five saves in a driving rain storm on Friday night against Dallas to help Centenary secure a key three points with a 2-0 win.
Coker saved both shots faces Sunday in limited action against Hendrix. She easily leads the conference in saves per game. With her seven saves, she eclipsed the triple-digit save mark for the second time in three seasons and ranks fourth in all-time saves at Centenary.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior midfielder Emily Donnan of Trinity University captained a Tiger defense that yielded just seven total shots over the two games, and just two of those shots were on goal.
