JULIA KELLY OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore defender from Grand Island, NY has been selected the SCAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for matches played Monday, October 5th through Sunday, October 11th.
Kelly paced Trinity's defense in its SCAC shutout victory over the University of Dallas on Friday night. Kelly and the Tiger defense allowed just four second-half shots against the Crusaders, but still posted the team's ninth consecutive shutout. Trinity has recorded 11 total shutouts this season, which includes six against SCAC opponents.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore goalkeeper Elena Naccari of Dallas played in two games and compiled 19 saves over the weekend. Junior defender Krystel Wolfe of Texas Lutheran University led a Bulldog defensive effort that allowed just one goal in 180 minutes of play.
