MICHELLE
LANIER OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior forward from
Albuquerque, N.M., has been selected the SCAC Women’s Soccer
Co-Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Friday,
September 16 through Sunday, September 22.
Lanier led Trinity to a pair of shutout wins in
conference play over the weekend, picking up a total of nine points
in the two games.
Lanier had a goal in the first game against Texas
Lutheran, and then exploded for two goals and three assists in the
win over Schreiner on Sunday. All of her production against
Schreiner came in the first half of play - including the eventual
game-winner. She scored or assisted on five of the team’s
seven goals in the first 45 mintues of play.
For the season, Lanier is second on the team with
15 total points, and is also second in both goals (5) and assists
(5). Sunday marked her first game-winning goal of the
season.
