MARY-TAYLOR
KERSEY OF CENTRE COLLEGE, a junior defender from
Winchester, Ky., has been named the SCAC Women's Soccer Defensive
Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 5
through Sunday, September 11.
Kersey scored the game-winning goal Saturday
afternoon in the Colonels' 1-0 victory over Baldwin-Wallace.
Kersey also anchored a defense that saw the
15th-ranked Centre Colonels post three shutouts over the week
including a 1-0 win over 2nd-ranked Otterbein on Sunday.
Kersey controlled a backfield for the Colonels
that allowed just 10 shots on goal in three games and that has now
posted shutouts in four of its first five games.
In five matches, Kersey has tallied one goal and
six assists for a total of 8 points.
