LINDSEY EUERS
OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a first-year defensive
midfielder from Austin, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women's
Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday,
October 12 through Sunday, October 18.
Euers led a Trinity Tiger defense that earned a
pair of tough wins over both Centre and DePauw over the
weekend.
Euers and the defense gave up two total goals in
the two games, though one of those was an “own-goal”
against Centre on Friday.
The stout defensive effort came against the top two teams in the
SCAC standings heading into this weekend. Euers
led a defense that allowed just 10 total shots in the two
games.
Euers has started all 11 games for Trinity, and
the defense has given up just three goals this season, posting
eight shutouts.
