GABBY DIXON OF UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a freshman defender from San Diego, Calif., has been named SCAC Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 2 through Sunday, March 8.
Dixon helped the Crusaders gain their first victory of the season against Culver-Stockton College. She was part of a defense that allowed four goals overall and helped UD build a 7-2 first half lead headlined by a 5-0 run to start the contest. Dixon led the team with five caused turnovers and matched a game-high eight ground balls.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore goalkeeper Brigid McCollam of Johnson & Wales collected nine saves in the Wildcats’ first game of the season last Saturday. McCollam finished the week with a total of 47 saves in the cage for JWU.
