HANNAH ORTIZ OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a senior pitcher from Boling, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Monday, February 24 through Sunday, March 1.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior pitcher Lindsey Longuet of Southwestern went 3-0 in the circle for the Pirates last week, including a pair of wins over Trinity in the opening series of SCAC play. In 19 Innings, Longuet posted a 2.21 ERA with 19 strikeouts and allowed just 12 total hits. Freshman pitcher Ashlyn Strother of Texas Lutheran combined with fellow first-year right-hander Sydney Ouellette to toss the 29th no-hitter in school history. Strother went four innings in an 8-0 win Saturday over the University of Dallas. Strother tossed four no-hit innings. She walked just one and struck out three in improving her season record to 4-0 in the circle. Junior pitcher Allie Holbrook of Trinity went 1-1 against Southwestern to open up SCAC play for the Tiger softball team, earning a complete-game victory to open Sunday's DH.
