Anna Dunn, Centenary College, Offensive Player of the Week (Week 11)

ANNA DUNN OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a junior senior outfielder from Shreveport, La., has been named the SCAC Softball Offensive Player of the Week for games played from Monday, April 9 through Sunday, April 15.

Dunn had one of the more dominant offensive weeks in recent conference history. The senior raised her average by more than 87 points and took over the conference lead in RBIs (44), average (.430), and home runs (12). Her seven RBIs at LeTourneau tied the SCAC record and broke the Centenary NCAA Division III record of six RBIs set five years ago. She also recorded her first multi-home run game of her career and the first for the Ladies in five seasons, and swiped four bases. For the week, Dunn hit .615 (16-26) with three doubles, five home runs, 11 runs scored and 20 runs driven in.

In the outfield, Dunn managed two outfield assists - including throwing a perfect strike to home plate from the warning track in right to gun down a runner trying to score.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
First-year right fielder McKay Bloxham of Texas Lutheran hit .545 in the four-game sweep of Southwestern and had back-to-back 2-for-3 performances in the two road wins on Saturday. In those two road victories, she drove in four runs (five for the series) and had three runs scored, and she doubled and tripled in Georgetown. Bloxham reached base 61.5 percent of the time over the four games. She also had two stolen bases and caught everything that came her way (all nine chances) in right field. Junior second baseman Hailey Wilson of Trinity led the Tigers to a doubleheader split against NAIA Our Lady of the Lake University on Wednesday, going 2-for-4 in the two games. Sophomore outfielder Izzy Jack of Southwestern went 3-for-5 with a walk in three games against second-ranked Texas Lutheran this past weekend.
