JOE SPONSEL OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior from Georgetown, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Track Athlete-of-the-Week for meets conducted through from Monday, March 4 through Sunday, March 10.
In his first season of track & field and running just his
second-ever steeplechase event, Sponsel was the
top D-III finisher at the Tarleton State Invitational (NCAA D-II)
on Thursday.
He placed second overall in the event on a very windy day and is
currently listed at the top of the SCAC Performance List.
