WILSON HAMILTON OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior from Austin, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for matches played from Monday, March 2 through Sunday, March 8.
Hamilton led the 12th-ranked Tiger men’s tennis team to a 3-0 record over the past weekend, defeating East Texas Baptist, Schreiner, and St. Thomas by 9-0 scores. Hamilton went 3-0 in singles over the weekend, winning twice at No. 3 singles and once at line four. He has now won seven consecutive matches to improve to 9-4 overall this season.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Junior Andres Padilla of Austin College went undefeated for the weekend in both singles and doubles competition as AC defeated Ozarks and fell 5-4 to UT-Dallas, winning 6-2, 6-0 at number two singles against the Eagles and battling for a 3-6, 6-2, 7-5 win against the Comets. Freshman Steven Tibbets of Southwestern improved to 6-1 on the year after clinching the lone match of the week for the Pirates, 9-0 last Thursday against TLU, winning at the No. 4 singles line, 6-0, 6-0.
