BEAU TIPTON OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior from San Antonio, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during the meets swam Monday, November 18 to Sunday, November 24.

Tipton opened up the TU Tiger Invitational with a third-place finish in his first collegiate 500 free with a time of 4:35.57. He went on to help the Tigers earn third in the 400 medley relay splitting a solid 50.6 fly leg. Additionally, Tipton finished third in the 200 free, slightly off his 1:41.2 preliminary time. He finished the meet off with a first-place finish in the 200 fly, turning in a pool record and nearly conference open record time of 1:48.54.

Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Josh Collins of University of the Ozarks, in two meets over the weekend, posted four school record swims. He swam a 2:06.39 in the 200 fly, a 24.36 in the 50 fly, a 57.25 in the 100 IM and a 2:05.32 in the 200 IM. He also earned victories in the 100 free (48.82), 100 fly (54.60) and led each relay to victories. First-year swimmer Sam Anderson of Southwestern finished fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:07.96 and placed sixth in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:56.34. He also helped as the first leg in the 400-yard freestyle relay where Southwestern claimed fifth place.
