ETHAN NGUYEN OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a freshman from Highland Park, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during the meets swam Monday, October 28 to Sunday, November 3.

Nguyen continued his strong freshman season by taking three individual first-place finishes and setting two more school records in the 'Roos' dual meet against UT-Permian Basin on Saturday. Nguyen won the 100 breast (59.31), 200 breast (2:11.72) and the 100 IM (54.28).

Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Junior Matthew Oevermann of Southwestern was the first Pirate to crack the top three, placing second in the 1000 free with a time of 10:28.03 in a dual against Incarnate Word on Friday. Oevermann also took another second-place finish, touching in a time of 4:25.88 in the 400 IM. Senior Jacob Jones of the University of the Ozarks helped the team to two great finishes in the Hendrix Relays and the Hendrix Classic edging out Centenary and McMurry this past weekend. Jones split a 1:50 anchoring the 800 free relay to come from behind and edge out McMurry and helped the Eagles to their best finish of the meet with a second place finish in the 200 free relay. On Saturday, Jones placed fourth in the 1000 in 10:31.94, and sixth in the 500 free in 5:02.60.
