GONCALO SANTANA OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a freshman midfielder from Salvador, Brazil, has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Tuesday, September 3 through Sunday, September 8.
Santana netted a pair of goals to lead Trinity to a 1-0-1 record on the road last weekend against Hardin-Simmons and Texas-Dallas.
With time running out and the Tigers trailing 1-0 against UT-Dallas, Santana scored the equalizer with just 1:13 remaining to allow Trinity to escape with a draw. He also scored the tying goal just before halftime against Hardin-Simmons, sparking the team to victory in the second half.
