Coby Petau, Colorado College, Offensive Player of the Week (Week 6)

COBY PETAU OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior attacker from Highlands Ranch, Colo., has been named the SCAC Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for games played from Monday, March 9 through Sunday, March 15.

Petau struck for four goals and added an assist to lead the Colorado College attack during a 14-10 victory over Baldwin Wallace last Thursday at Washburn Field. With his first goal 1:17 into the game off a feed from Rieser, Petau became the 13th player in program history to score 100 or more career goals. He capped his performance 3:05 into the fourth quarter, converting on a pass from Conrad Song to give CC a 10-8 and ignite a 5-1 surge that sealed the victory.

With that tally, Petau climbed into a tie for 12th place with former teammate Tyler Borko, who completed his career with 103 goals. He also is 18th with 129 points and 49th with 26 assists. Through six games, Petau ranks second on the team with 17 goals and 22 points. He also is fifth with five assists.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore attacker Austin Gibbons of Dallas paced the Crusaders with season-high five goals last week versus Franciscan in tough 13-9 loss on Tuesday. He was effective in shooting placing 10-of-11 shots on target. He also had a ground ball and caused turnover.
