JACOB GENTRY OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a senior from Corpus Christi, Texas, has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for competition played through February 27th.
Gentry finished in fifth place at the Linda Lowery Invitational this week, recording the top finish for a SCAC golfer with a score of 148 (76-72).
Gentry's second round score of 72 was the third-best score on the day. For the tournament, he posted 22 pars and five birdies.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Emilio Montalvo of the University of Dallas was the Crusaders' top finisher, tying for eighth place with a 36-hole score of 151. Cade Osgood of Southwestern University tied for eighth place at the Linda Lowery Invitational with a score of 151 to lead the Pirates. Colin Uecker of Texas Lutheran University led the Bulldogs with a 17th place finish, carding a 154 (80-74).
