CHARLES
HOUSTON OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior forward
from Seguin, Texas has been named SCAC Basketball
Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday, November 17 through
Sunday, November 23.
Houston led Trinity to a 1-1 record to open the
season last weekend, coming within a whisker of upsetting
sixth-ranked UW-Stevens Point and starting off undefeated.
Houston had a double-double in games, averaging 15.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game over the weekend. He also had five steals in both games and hit 11-20 (.550) from the field and 8-12 (.667) from the foul line.
He finished with 18 points and 12 boards in a 77-66 win against Schreiner on Friday, then had 13 points and a career-high 15 rebounds in the 70-71 overtime loss against the sixth-ranked Pointers on Saturday. Houston was also named to the All-Tournament Team for his efforts last weekend.
