ROBERT
KITZINGER OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a first-year
forward from Carmel, Ind., has been named SCAC Basketball
Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday, December 13 through
Sunday, December 19.
Kitzinger led Trinity to its first two wins of
the season last weekend, as the team defeated both Albion and
Hardin-Simmons.
He averaged 16.5 points/game over the weekend, hitting 61.1%
(11-18) from the field and 57.1% (8-14) from three-point range.
Against Albion, he scored 16 of his 19 points in the second half to
lead Trinity to a comeback win – erasing a 10-point
deficit.
For the season, Kitzinger is averaging 10.0 points/game and has nailed 28-69 (40.6%) from the field and 8-12 (66.7%) from the free throw line (hitting 3-4 this weekend). He also leads the Tigers with 16 three-point field goals made, hitting 37.2% (16-48) on the year.
