Riley Schaefer, Texas Lutheran University, Offensive Player of the Week (Week 3)

RILEY SCHAEFER OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior outfielder from Thorndale, Texas has been named the SCAC Baseball Offensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday February 18th. 

Schaefer posted a .625 batting average for the four games TLU faced this week. Schaefer went a combined 10-for-16 with eight total runs scored, helping the Bulldogs improve to a 9-0 record overall.

In the victory of UMHB, Schaefer collected three hits, scored three runs and drove in two. He had a double and a triple.

In the three-game series versus Hardin-Simmons, the Bulldogs extended a 4-2 lead in the eighth with a three-run home run from the senior center fielder. Schaefer went 4-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBI in game one.

For the week, he added three stolen bases - one against UMHB and two in Friday's doubleheader game one.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior third baseman Mark Peterson of the University of Dallas batted .667, including a perfect 3-for-3 in a game against Howard Payne University last week. Senior outfielder Jason McCormack of Southwestern University hit .625 with three runs and four RBI in the Pirates' two wins against McMurry University. Junior infielder John Tucker of Trinity University hit .556 in two wins for the Tigers, recording three runs and four RBI.
