LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's cross country schedule entered week three of its season with five teams slated for competition.
Texas Lutheran hosted Dallas, Schreiner and nonconferance Concordia (Tex.) for its annual 5k Bulldog Invitational. TLU took home its first team victory of the season as the Bulldogs were led by junior Ashley Rynard who finished with a time of 21:00. In all, Texas Lutheran finished with four runners in the top 10 as freshman Hannah Martinez finished fifth (21:43 ), junior Ciera Rodriguez took seventh (22:22), and sophomore Jackie Garcia placed ninth (22:48).
The Crusaders took home second place led by freshman Anna Wilgenbusch who finished fourth after completing the course in 21:09. Other top performances from Dallas included freshman Sabrina Lucio finishing sixth (22:07) and sophomore Clare Hernandez placing eighth (22:45) repectively.
Schreiner turned in a fourth-place overall finish led by freshmen Sarah Endres taking a 12th in the race with a time of 23:10.
Southwestern competed at the Rhodes Invitaional where they placed 15th. Pirates freshman Valerie Acosta was the top runner after completing the 6k in 27:01.7.
Johnson & Wales attended the Missouri Southern Stampede but did not score as a team. The Wildcats were led by sophomore Rachel Seligson who finished the 5k in 21:51.23.
The women’s cross country season continues next weekend as Austin College, Dallas, Schreiner, and Texas Luthernal head to the OLLU Saints Invitational and Trinity competes at the Chile Pepper Invitational.
