MARIAH
ESCAJEDA OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY,a freshman
goalkeeper from Boerne, Texas, has been selected the SCAC
Women’s Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches
played from Monday, October 21st through Sunday, October 27th.
Escajeda recorded her third and fourth shutouts
this season with a pair of shutouts over the weekend. She recorded
eight saves and allowed no goals in 180 minutes of
action. Helping the Pirates set a new SU record for most
conference wins in a season.
For the season, Escajeda is leading the SCAC in
shutouts per game with five shutouts for a percentage of .33. She
is second in the SCAC in saves percentage with a total of 60 saves
and a percentage of .822.
