SARAH NONAKA OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore goalkeeper from Honolulu, Hawaii, has been named the SCAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 11 through Sunday, October 17.
Nonaka was a beast in goal as she recorded two
shutouts this weekend as the Pirates defeated Millsaps 2-0 and
Birmingham Southern 1-0. She recorded five saves over the two games
while playing every minute of both
contest.
Nonaka also got involved in the Pirates' offensive attack
as her 60 yard punt found Ashley Gallegos down the left hand
sideline who passed to Amy Douglas for the game winner.
