JENNIFER WHITE
OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a
first-year defender from Albuquerque, N.M., has been named the SCAC
Women's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from
Monday, October 4 through Sunday, October 10.
White led the Tiger women’s soccer team to three
shutout victories over the past week, holding opponents to just
four total shots in those three wins.
White and the Tiger defense posted 6-0 shutouts over Mary
Hardin-Baylor and Dallas, then out-fought Austin College in a 2-0
win to finish the week Sunday afternoon. After a scoreless
first half, the Trinity defense did not allow a shot in the final
45 minutes, paving the way for the offense to grab the
victory.
Led by White, Trinity’s defense
has recorded four consecutive shutouts and nine straight
wins. The team has seven shutouts overall this season, and
has allowed just one goal in the past seven games.
