MEMPHIS, Tenn. - This Saturday, Rhodes College softball will hold its second annual "Hit for the Cure" play day, which will benefit the Stephanie Vasofsky Cervical Cancer Foundation and is designed to raise awareness for cervical cancer on campus and in the community.

Rhodes will play a single game against Southwest Tennessee Community College at 10am and a single game against Williams Baptist College at 12pm.  Williams Baptist and Southwest wil conclude the day with a game at 2pm.

As part of their "Hit for the Cure" week, Rhodes softball players have been selling "Hit for the Cure" t-shirts in the Burrow Refectory during lunch, as well as distributing information brochures in the Refectory.  In addition, members of the team have taken the time to meet with each female varsity team on campus this week, educating them on cervical cancer.

On Saturday, representatives from the Stephanie Vasofsky Cervical Cancer Foundation will be at the games, sharing Stephanie's story on a personal level, and will be speaking with all 3 teams and their fans about the issue of cervical cancer.

Last fall, Rhodes Softball raised over $600 for the foundation.
