
JEFF LONNECKER OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior pitcher from Bellaire, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Co-Pitcher of the Week for games played through Sunday, April 29th. Cole Lavergne of Centenary College is the other Co-Pitcher of the Week.
Lonnecker appeared in two of Trinity's five games last week, going 1-0 with an ERA of 1.46 for the Tigers. Lonnecker struck out 18 batters against just one walk in 12.1 innings of work, highlighted by a 9.2-inning relief appearance in an extra-inning win at Centenary on Saturday.
Lonnecker struck out 12 batters in his 9.2 innings, giving up just one run on three hits in the game.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior pitcher Nathan Malinovsky of Texas Lutheran University struck out nine and did not allow an earned run in six innings of work as the Bulldogs defeated Austin College 13-1 in the middle game of a three-game TLU sweep.
