Brianna Ratliff, Trinity University, Runner of the Week (Week 1)

BRIANNA RATLIFF OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior from San Antonio, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets ran Friday, August 30 and Saturday, August 31.

Ratliff placed sixth in the women’s 4k race among a field of over 75 runners at the University of Incarnate Word Opener on Friday evening. She crossed the finish line in 15:34.1, just seven seconds behind the Incarnate Word competitor. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Anna Wilgenbusch of Dallas won the UD-Austin College Dual Meet this weekend in a time of 12:17.7. She ran alone for the majority of the race separating herself from the second-place runner by a minute and a half and setting the UD record for the two-mile in the process. Senior Rachel Seligson of Johnson & Wales paced the Wildcats to an eighth place finish at Friday’s Terry Masterson Twilight Classic. She finished in 26th place with a 3-mile time of 21:59.0. Freshman Emma Pertuit of Southwestern finished third overall at Tornado Watch Invitational hosted by Concordia (Texas). She ran 21:25 for the 5K to open up her collegiate career.  Senior Kylee Garcia of Texas Lutheran ran to a 14th-place overall finish among a field of mostly Division 1 runners at the UIW Opener. Her time of 15:52.2 over the 4K course is second best in school history and a personal best for her at this distance.
