EDEN LLAMAS OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a senior from San Antonio, Texas is has been named the SCAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for her run at the East Texas Baptist University Tiger Invitational.
Llamas set a new PR by 36 seconds with her time of 23:44 in the 6K race. This is one minute and 42 seconds faster than her time at this meet last year.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman Mabel Fowler of Trinity University finished third among DIII runners at the University of Incarnate Word Invitational with her time of 25:14.2. Freshman Sofia Garcia of Southwestern University set a new PR at the East Texas Baptist Tiger Invitational 6K race. Freshman Felicia Ortiz of Texas Lutheran University ran her season-best 6K time at the University of the Incarnate Word Inviational. Junior Leah Veldhuisen of Colorado College placed 34th in the Fort Hays Open, mainly DII runners, with her 5K time of 19:27 though the wet and muddy course.
