ALYSSA WARLING OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a first-year runner from Loveland, Co., has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets run through Saturday, October 3rd.
Warling raced at the Willamette University Invitational on Saturday and ran a personal best of 18:18 for the 5k despite strong Division III, II and NAIA competition.
Warling placed 21st overall out of about 130 runners. She now has the fastest 5k for a first-year female runner at Colorado College.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman Bridget Kennedy of the University of Dallas, in her first College 6k, ran a 24:05 at ETBU this weekend to tally the 3rd fastest time in the conference this season. Sophomore Haley McFadden of Trinity University ran a personal best time of 18:56 at the Chile Pepper Festival this week.
