LEAH WESSLER OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior from Ashland, OR., has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets run through Saturday, September 19th. 

Wessler raced in the Colorado College Invitational with a record number of teams including NCAA Division II, NAIA and junior college programs. She ran a 23:19 for her first 6k of the year, over one minute faster than her best 6k time from last season. 

Wessler finished the home invitational 12th out of 122 finishers. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman Bridget Kennedy of the University of Dallas ran a 20:08 5k this weekend in her first college race at the Gerald Richey Invite hosted by UT-Arlington.
