MCMAHON OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore outside
hitter from Austin, Texas has been named SCAC Volleyball
Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 4
through Sunday, October 10.
McMahon led Trinity to a 5-0 week that included a
four-match sweep at the SCAC West-Central Divisional Tournament at
Millsaps College. McMahon tallied 76 kills and 53
digs for the week, as well as posting 13 total blocks (0.72/set) in
the five matches. She averaged 4.22 kills/set and 2.94
digs/set, while hitting .297 over the week.
However, it was against conference opponents that she truly
shined, hitting .313 in the four matches, posting two
double-doubles, and leading the team in kills in every match.
McMahon averaged 4.47 kills and 2.67 digs per
set over the four matches, saving her best for the win against
seventh-ranked Colorado College on Sunday. In that match, she
put up a blistering .350 hitting percentage, finishing with 19
kills and just five errors (40 attempts). She also had seven
digs and a season-best five blocks.
