TIA HART OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a freshman from Edna, Texas, has been named the SCAC Field Athlete of the Week for meets held through Sunday, March 24th.
Hart won the javelin and broke the Bulldog program record in the process at the TLU D3 Challenge meet last weekend, a record that had stood since 1982. Hart’s winning toss of 41.14 meters is currently the best in all of the SCAC and good enough for seventh in all of Div. III.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman JaeLynn Stewart of Southwestern helped guide the Pirates to a third-place overall team finish at the Island Meet last weekend. Stewart finished third in the shot put with a toss of 11.54 meters, the top Div. III finisher at the meet. Senior Stella Affognon of Trinity made her outdoor debut last weekend at the TLU D3 Challenge meet. Affognon won the discus (39.51m), finished second in the shot put (10.81m) and took home third in the hammer throw (35.27m).
