LINDSEY PENG OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a junior defender from Spring, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, September 22nd.
Peng recorded the first and last assist in Trinity’s 6-0 win over Texas Lutheran on Friday, which included the assist on the game-winning goal. Peng also led the Tiger defense in which the team allowed just three total shots. Trinity finished 1-1 for the week, losing only to No. 4 Christopher Newport.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior goalkeeper Olivia Severson of Dallas collected seven saves and posted a shutout in a pair of Crusader wins last week. Severson logged a season-best six saves in a 2-1 win over Concordia to help extend the Dallas unbeaten streak to four. Senior goalkeeper Katelyn Peters of Johnson & Wales was credited with 15 saves in a pair of tough losses last week. Peters is now second in the SCAC with 45 saves on the season.
