MAGGIE PITCHER OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a freshman goalkeeper from San Antonio, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week beginning September 11th.
Pitcher recorded her first two collegiate shutouts this weekend to post a 1-0-1 reford and help Centenary sit atop the standings of the SCAC.
On Friday, she played all 110 minutes in a scoreless draw, and held Southwestern without a a score on Sunday. She totaled 201:32 minutes in the net, while notching 15 saves.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore defender Mikayla Wallace of Texas Lutheran University was assigned to defend the best forward for both teams the Bulldogs faced last weekend and did not allow a goal. Junior defender Madee Gallagher of Trinity University managed a defense that allowed just three total shots in 90 minutes, including only one attempt in the second half of play, and no shots on goal.
