KELSEY FALCONE OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore midfielder from San Antonio, Texas, has been selected as the SCAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, August 27 through Sunday, September 2.
Falcone got the fifth-ranked Tigers off to a
good start over the weekend, defeating Mary Hardin-Baylor, and
tying 10th-ranked Hardin-Simmons on the road.
Falcone scored three goals in the two games,
including the game-winner in Friday’s season opener against
UMHB.
Later in that game, Falcone picked up her second
goal of the second half to seal the victory. With Trinity trailing
1-0 in the second half against Hardin-Simmons the next night,
Falcone netted another goal to even the score, and eventually, earn
the tie.
Last season, Falcone scored just one goal to
go with five assists in her 23 games as a first-year player.
Friday’s goal was the first game-winner of her career.
