GRACE MAYNARD OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior midfielder from Cedar Park, Texas, has been named the SCAC Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, February 4th through February 10th.
Maynard was instrumental in the Pirates opening 23-5 victory against Huntingdon last Sunday. Maynard collected four ground balls, won four draw controls and caused one turnover to help limit the Hawks offense to just five goals and 14 shots.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior goalie Lizz Winkler of Dallas racked up 14 saves in a winning effort as the Crusaders picked up their first win of the season, 15-13, over Huntingdon last Saturday.
