SHERIDAN HOPKINS OF UNIVERSITY OF ST. THOMAS, a senior guard from Galveston, Texas, has been named SCAC Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Friday, November 11 through Sunday, November 17. 

Hopkins reached 1,400 points for her collegiate career in Friday’s season-opening contest when she scored 30 points in a 92-65 win over Louisiana College.

On the week, the senior averaged 27 points on 52.3 percent shooting (34-65) and grabbed 9.3 rebounds per game. She also added six steals and six blocks while averaging nearly 35 minutes a night as the Celts posted a 2-1 week.

Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Junior guard Emily Daniel of Trinity led the Tiger women's basketball team to a 77-68 win over Hardin-Simmons in its only game last week. Daniel led all scorers with 24 points on 9-of 15 shooting, which included 4-of-8 from three-point range and 2-of-2 from the foul line. She also picked up three assists and a pair of steals as the Tigers improved to 2-1 this season. Junior guard Tara Molina of Texas Lutheran registered 14 points, six assists, five rebounds, and five steals in a home loss Friday to Howard Payne. Molina shot 50 percent from the floor (5-for-10) and was 2-for-4 from the three-point line. Junior forward Noel Pratts of Southwestern had 15 points, five rebounds and five assists in the Pirates' 84-65 loss to No. 12 UT-Dallas - the team's only game of the week.
