ANECIA RICHARDSON OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore forward from Mesquite, Texas, has been selected as the SCAC Women's Basketball Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, February 17th through Sunday, February 23rd.

Richardson willed the Tigers to a crucial 77-69road win over Southwestern on Friday night, pushing the team to thesecond seed at the upcoming SCAC Tournament.

Richardson scored 24 of her 30 points in thesecond half, leading the Tigers in erasing a 10-point deficit inthe final period.  She scored 10 points in a key 17-0 runearly in the second period to push the Tigers to victory. Richardson hit 12-18 from the field and 6-8 from the foulline in the game.  She also grabbed eight rebounds and had apair of steals.

For the season, Richardson leads Trinity with 16.8points/game and is second on the team with 5.7 rebounds/game. Her 53 blocks are also a team-best, as is her 63.3% (167-264)shooting for the year.  Richardson has alsohit 68% (87-128) from the foul line.
