Kaylee Atchley, Schreiner University, Offensive Player of the Week (Week 1)

KAYLEE ATCHLEY OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a freshman pitcher/infielder from Seguin, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Offensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, February 5th.

Atchley helped lead the Mountaineers to a 3-1 week to start the season, sweeping Howard Payne University and going 1-1 against Huston-Tillotson.

Atchley was 7-for-12 at the plate, hitting .583 over the weekend, while recording one double, one triple and a pair of RBI. She also scored four runs.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior short stop Raquel Vara of Austin College had a huge opening weekend for the 'Roos, batting .400 with three doubles, four runs scored and eight RBI. Freshman utility player Sydney Scott of Southwestern University was on fire in her first collegiate games, going 7-for-8 at the plate, scoring four runs and bringing in one RBI. Senior outfielder Nicole Snow of Texas Lutheran University collected three hits in six at-bats and drove in two runs during a doubleheader with UT-Dallas.
