HEATHER HUMMEL OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a senior third baseman from Houston, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Offensive Player of the Week for games played Monday, March 14th through Sunday, March 20th.
Hummel blasted three home runs and drove in eight as the Bulldogs swept a four-game SCAC series from Schreiner. She scored four runs, hit .556 and posted on-base and slugging percentage numbers of .615 and 1.667 for the week. She produced 15 total bases. She also stole two bases.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior outfielder Emily Fleishman of Trinity hit .462 during the series with Centenary, connecting for six hits in 13 at-bats. Freshman first baseman Wendy Gillet of Centenary College managed a hit in all six games of the week. Junior infielder Berkely Bacon of Southwestern was a perfect 5-5 on day two for a .636 weekly batting average
