TAYLOR CURTIS OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore outfielder from Bryan, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Offensive Player of the Week for games played Monday, March 7th through Sunday, March 13th.
Curtis led Southwestern to a 3-1 record this weekend against Centenary College, going 7-11 for a .636 batting average with four RBIs and four runs. She also added in two doubles and was 5-6 on stolen bases.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior catcher Jennifer Gallagher of Texas Lutheran drove in a team-best six runs as the Bulldogs went 4-1 at the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Columbus, Ga. Freshman catcher Stephanie Crumrine of Trinity University hit 6-10 (.600) for the week, scoring three runs, and driving in three more. Senior infielder Sophia Hernandez of Austin College hit .333 in seven games at the plate with a .429 on base percentage and a .556 slugging percentage.
