WENDY GILLET OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a freshman first baseman from Orange, Texas, has been named the SCAC Softball Offensive Player of the Week for games played Monday, February 8th through Sunday February 14th.
Gillet had an strong week to begin her Ladies career, beginning with a six-game hitting streak. Her nine hits, including five doubles, leads the SCAC in both categories. Her six RBI's are also second in the conference in helping Centenary jump out to a 4-2 record, its best start as an NCAA Division III program.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman utility Celeste Silvas of Southwestern went 3-6 from the plate in two games with two RBIs. Juniot outfielder Emily Low of Austin College had a terrific weekend for the 'Roos, batting .500 with an on base percentage of .625, driving in three runs and scoring three more in two games. Senior shortstop Erin Begle of Dallas picked up two stolen bases and was on base five times in six of her plate appearances last week for the University of Dallas.
