After Southwestern (18-21, 12-9 SCAC) took a 3-1 lead going into the top of the seventh, Schriener responded with four runs thanks to the go ahead, two RBI single from Sarah Worrell to take a 5-3 lead.

The Mountaineers (10-30, 6-16 SCAC) would shut the Pirates chance of a comeback down in the bottom half of the seventh and Dom Sandoval earned the victory and Schreiner picked up its third win of the tournament.

Sandoval pitched a complete game, allowing one earned run on six hits and striking out two despite four walks in the contest.

Samantha Cordon finished 3-for-3 with two RBI while Worrell was 2-for-4 with her two huge RBI. Daneece Stewart and Sandoval each had two hits in the game.

Cozette Palmer started the game for Southwestern, but was pulled after 0.1 inning as it seemed she was fatigued after her win earlier against Dallas. Alyssa Novander came in relief and did an excellent job despite taking the loss, pitching 6.2 innings and allowing only one earned run while striking out three.

Caroline Young finished 2-for-4 with a RBI for the Pirates while Ally Holland drove in a run.

Schreiner moves on and will face Trinity University in an elimination game with the winner moving on to face Texas Lutheran University in the SCAC Championship Game tomorrow at 12 p.m.
