RJ NAVARRO OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a sophomore from Buda, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men’s Runner of the Week for meets ran through Sunday, September 15th.

Navarro finished second at the University of Texas-Dallas Invite last Saturday, setting an Austin College record for the fastest 5k in program history when he crossed the line in 16:06.00. His performance also led the ‘Roos to an overall team victory with 56 points which included three AC runners finishing in the top nine. 

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Tony Calderon of Colorado College paced the Tigers last weekend to a fourth-place finish at the CC Invitational after he traversed the 8K course in a time of 26:15.7 good enough for fifth among collegiate runners. Senior John Jacob of Johnson & Wales led the Wildcats to a eighth-place finish at the Bronco Stampede last week finishing seventh individually with a time of 27:12.3 on the 8K course. Freshman Lucas Wolf of St. Thomas led the Celts at the Rice Invitational last Friday, finishing 54th with a time of 21:38.89 Junior Harry Bellow of Trinity placed 10th in his first race of the year at the competitive University of Texas 5K. Bellow crossed the line in 16:06 to help lead his team to a third-place overall finish.
