JACKSON
BRAINERD OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a junior from
Littleton, Colo., has been selected the SCAC Men's Cross Country
Runner-of-the-Week for meets run through Saturday, September
18.
Brainerd, won the individual title for the second
year in a row to help the Tigers take second place at the 2010
Colorado College Invitational on Saturday morning at North Monument
Valley Park.
Brainerd took the lead with two kilometers to go and beat Aaron Swift from Colorado School of Mines (team ranked #3 in Division II) to the finish line by three seconds. His course record time of 25:27 was 27 seconds better than his winning time from 2009 (also the previous course record). The field was comprised of Division I, II, and III schools (10 schools represented/ 86 individuals).
