TONY CALDERON OF COLORADO COLLEGE, a senior from Fort Collins, Colo., has been selected the SCAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week for meets held through Sunday, March 8.
Calderon won the 3,000-meters at the Puget Sound Track Invitational with a CC school record time of 8:49.75 to best a field of 11 runners. Calderon’s performance helped CC take home third out of 12 teams overall at the meet.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Kevin McGuirk of Dallas once again showed how versatile his talents on the track are. Despite facing extreme winds, McGuirk posted a 400-meter hurdles time of 59.35 and a 110-meter hurdles time of 16.51 to help lead Dallas to a third-place finish at the Hardin-Simmons Cowboy Invite.
