KENNY MOEHRIG OF TEXAS LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from La Vernia, Texas, has been named the SCAC Field Athlete of the Week for meets held Monday, February 29th through Sunday March 6th.
Moehrig competed in his first-ever collegiate competition in both the Pole Vault and the High Jump. He out jumped all competitors in the high jump and was second in the pole vault. He cleared 1.92 in the high jump and 3.75 in the pole vault. His 1.92 leads the conference in the high jump and his 3.75 in the pole vault also leads the SCAC. Both are new school records.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Tyler Adams of Southwestern University threw 41.25 meters in the hammer just shy of his personal best, 36.09 meters in the discus, and 10.39 meters in the shot scoring a total of 6 points for the Pirates at the Marc Randle Classic hosted by UT Tyler on Friday.
