ETHAN NGUYEN OF AUSTIN COLLEGE, a freshman from Highland Park, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week for performances during the meets swam Monday, October 14 to Sunday, October 20.

Nguyen made history in his first collegiate meet, breaking the Austin College program record in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 58.68, making him the first person in 'Roo history to swim that event in under a minute.

Nguyen also took first in the 200 individual medley as Austin College defeated McMurry to open the season. He was also a member of the 200 medley relay team that took first at the meet.

Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
Sophomore Daniel Sarman of Trinity led off the 400 medley relay with a 52.66 100 back split, and went on the win the 100 back individually with a time of 52.54 at the Tigers' dual meet against UT-Permian Basin. Sarman went on to have a great showing, winning the 200 back in a time of 1:53.56, and closed the meet off with a 47.86 lead off swim on the 400 free relay to help the Tigers win in an overall time of 3:13.52. Senior Dany Baki of McMurry competed in both the 1000 free and 500 free this past Friday night, taking first in the 1000 (11:19.45) and finishing second in the 500 (5:32.89). He dropped nine seconds in the 1000 and four seconds off his 500 free postings since the War Hawks' first dual in September. Junior Walker Martin of Colorado College, in the team's win over Adams State, posted individual wins in both the 200 free (1:50.18) and 100 free (50.23) and was part of the winning 200 free relay team (22.82 split).
