ANDREW THIESSE OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior from Williamsburg, Va., has been selected the SCAC Men's Swimmer of the Week for all meets through Sunday, October 25th.
Thiesse, sophomore Gordon Allan, and first-year Andre Newlands all logged double wins in Trinity's dual meet with McMurry this past Saturday. After leading of the winning Tiger medley relay (1:42.40) at the beginning of the meet, Thiesse posted a 2:03.32 on his way to taking top honors in the 200 IM. He then came back to edge sophomore team-mate Spencer Adickes in a closely contested 200 backstroke, recording a 1:58.91 against Spencer's 1:59.28.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior Arash Ataei of Centenary College began the day by taking the 200 yard free in 1:49.01, before swimming in an outside lane to take the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.26.
