TYRONE PETRAKIS OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a senior midfielder from Albuquerque, N.M.has been selected as the SCAC Men's Soccer Co-Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, September 29 through Sunday, October 5.
Petrakis had two
goals and an assist to lead the Tigers to two SCAC victories over
Austin College and Colorado College over the weekend.
Petrakishad a
goal and an assist in Friday’s 5-1 win over Austin College,
with the assist coming on the eventual game-winning goal. On
Sunday, with under two minutes left in a scoreless game,
Petrakis got in behind the defense for a chance at
a game-winning goal. He drew a foul in the penalty area, then
nailed the PK for the 1-0 win and a weekend sweep.
On the season, Petrakis has scored three goals
and four assists and is tied for fourth on the team with 10 total
points. His game-winning goal on Sunday was his second of the
season.
