CHIMA OGUERI OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a sophomore forward from Garland, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches beginning September 11th.
Ogueri posted his first goals of the season, including the golden goal in overtime to help the University of Dallas upset fourth-ranked Trinity University in San Antonio on Friday. That snapped a 47-game home winning streak for the Tigers dating back to Sept. 10, 2013.
Ogueri also had the go-ahead goal in the first half to make it 2-1 at the time. He placed all three shots on goal.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Junior forward Phillip Le of Austin College scored the team's lone goal in a double overtime draw with Southwestern, and followed that up with a goal in addition to the assist on the game winner in a 2-1 overtime win over Texas Lutheran. Senior forward Cam Stopforth of Colorado College scored a pair of goals in the Tigers win over Schreiner University on Friday, incuding the eventual game-winner. Senior midfielder David Ching of Texas Lutheran University scored the game winning goal, and the extra insurance shot in the last 3 minutes of play in their 3-1 win over Centenary on Friday, totaling 4 points. Freshman midfielder Jacob Hallenberger of Trinity University scored the game-winning goal against Schreiner and #20 Colorado last week, tallying two goals and an assist over the three games.
